	ABOUT
	A story of shipwrecks and love -- After a terrible ocean storm, Brendan finds himself on a Chilean island with Eloise, the girl of his secret dreams. Alone together for the first time, the two grow close, yet Brendan worries: if they leave the island will Eloise still need him? Director Ben Kadie (age 16) filmed throughout the beautiful Pacific Northwest including underwater in Lake Washington and on the 100-year-old tugboat Arthur Foss. The film stars Seattle-area actors Asher Jordan and Bria Lynn Massie. It features a licensed songs by Bright Eyes, Bronze Radio Return, and Carl Hauck.

	Phenom Film Fest has named ALONE TOGETHER Award: Best Student Short Film, 17 & Under. I'll get a trophy wearing a fez! Thanks! It played on Sept 9 in Shreveport, LA.
	ALONE TOGETHER will play at the Black Earth Film Festival in Galesburg, IL, on Saturday, Sept 15th. This is close to Peoria, so my family there will be able to see the film on the big screen!
	ALONE TOGETHER will play the Ruby Mountain Film Festival on Sept 30 in Elko, NV. Last year Mack screened at the festival.
	ALONE TOGETHER will play the Independents' Film Festival on Sept 8 in Tampa, FL. It is one of five films in the Junior program. Last year Secret Club screened at the festival.
	ALONE TOGETHER played on Saturday, Aug. 18th, at the Sacramento Film & Music Festival and won two awards: Awards: Emerging Filmmaker Award & Best Young Filmmaker.
	ALONE TOGETHER Wins One of Two Top Awards from da Vinci Film Festival July 23, 2012: Thanks to the Da Vinci Days Film Festival in Corvallis for yesterday giving ALONE TOGETHER the "Emerging Artist Award"! The award, which includes a $150 prize, is one of the festival's two top prizes. The film also won "Best Youth Filmmaker". Last year, Mack screened, we were able to attend, and had a great time. This year, I had to stay home to work on The Painted Girl.
	ALONE TOGETHER and SECRET CLUB will play the the Sidewalk Film Festival in Birmingham, AL, on August 25th. In 7th grade, they screened A FRIENDLY GAME and 009.

	Alone Together wins Nashville Film Festival's Young Filmmaker's Competition April 23, 2012: The Nashville Film Festival has given the Watkins Young Filmmaker Award to Alone Together. The award, announced at the film's American Première in Nashville on Friday, is the festival's top honor for 18-and-under filmmakers. This marks 16-year-old Ben's second time in competition for the award and first win. Two years ago, his film Sparks in the Night competed. This year Alone Together was one of seven youth films in consideration. The Nashville Film Festival, founded in 1969, is one of the longest-running American festivals, and is one of the most acclaimed movie events in the South. This year the Academy Award qualifying festival received 2027 short films submissions (in all categories) and accepted 120.

	The Spirit Quest Film Fest awards Alone Together "Best Student Short" March 30, 2012: This is the film's second pre-premiere award. The Spirit Quest Film Fest of Edinboro University, PA, focuses on the on the human experience, from day to day relationships to matters of life and death, war and peace, science and spirituality.
	Alone Together wins Scholastic National Silver Medal March 15, 2012: The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers today awarded a National Scholastic Silver Medal to ALONE TOGETHER. This is 16-year-old Ben’s fifth film and fourth consecutive year to win national recognition. Two additional films have won regional recognition. Two years ago, Ben’s Gold Medal film Sparks in the Night toured the country as one of 100 pieces in the Alliance’s ART.WRITE.NOW museum exhibition. The Silver Medal is the Alliance's second highest national award. The Alliance has given awards since 1923 to teens such as Truman Capote, Andy Warhol, and Robert Redford. This year, student artists submitted 200,000 works with 1600 earning national recognition. The NY Observer wrote "Invasion of the Teenage Geniuses" about the 2010 national award ceremony in NYC.
	Alone Together World Premiere: Halifax, Canada in April March 3, 2012: Alone Together will World Premiere at View Finders: International Film Festival for Youth/Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, Canada. The festival screens on April 20.
	Alone Together Washington Premiere: NFFTY in April The Washington State Premiere of Alone Together was at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (details). The NFFTY Future of Film Expo also included a 15-minute demo by Ben breaking down of the Cinema 4D effects in Alone Together & Molly and the Masked Storm (Details). Here are family photos. This was 16-year-old Ben's sixth year and seventh film in NFFTY. Two years ago Sparks in the Night was selected for the "Best of NFFTY" screening & DVD. In 2009, Murder at the Pharaoh's Grave, made when Ben was 12, won NFFTY's HBO-sponsored trip to Hollywood.

	Alone Together Wins Its First Award January 31, 2012: The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers today awarded a Regional Gold Key to ALONE TOGETHER. This marks Ben's fourth year (and sixth film) to receive the Alliance's highest regional honor. Two previous films went on to win National Silver Medals and two went on to win National Gold Medals. The Alliance has given awards since 1923 to teens such as Truman Capote, Andy Warhol, and Robert Redford. Congratulations also to Camilla Franklin, boom operator on ALONE TOGETHER, who separately won two Silver Keys and two Gold Keys for her photography and digital art.
